Most universities have hundreds of internal scholarships, often less competitive. Some are automatic based on grades — others need a quick essay. Email the financial aid office.

You apply to 30, you might win 3-5. Don't skip the $500-$1k ones — they're easier to win + add up quickly.

Reuse your essays
Most prompts are variations on "leadership," "community," "future goals." Write one strong base essay and adapt it 80% reuse + 20% tailoring.
