★ NETWORK · BROKER-QUALITY VARIES
Mortgage Architects is a brand, not a service standard. We talked to four different MA brokers across three provinces. One was excellent (matched Nesto rate, walked us through the math like a pro). Three were mediocre (quoted 0.15%+ over Nesto, didn't push back on rate). TL;DR: if a friend recommends a specific MA broker, they can be as good as the best in Canada. Random corporate intake is a coin flip.
★ THE SCORECARD ★
How we arrived at 7.9/10
Rates7.5/10
Depends on the individual broker. Top MA agents match Nesto. New agents may quote 0.20%+ higher.
Tech / UX6.5/10
No central platform. Each broker uses their own tools. UX varies wildly.
Customer service8.5/10
Top brokers are excellent. Random assignment can produce frustrating experiences.
Lender network9.0/10
M3 has access to nearly every Canadian lender. Individual brokers may not use them all.
Eligibility8.5/10
B-lender, private, self-employed — yes, if your broker knows how. That is the key qualifier.

FINAL VERDICT
A network, not a service. Quality depends entirely on which broker you get.
If a trusted friend recommends a specific senior MA broker, expect Nesto-level rates with white-glove service. Walk into a random branch and you'll get assigned to whoever's next — quality is a coin flip. Most people are better served by Nesto's centralized model.
